I have always had issues with having friends and being a friend ever since I can remember. I was reading my Bible when it occurred to me that nothing was ever going to occur to me about this situation and that I would just have to move on. Get it? I was dwelling too much on the issue. People are not always fair, as a matter of fact most of the time they aren’t. We live in a selfish world where everything is centered around I, me, mine. Is it a right mentality to have? No, but its reality. So when people hurt me I have learned what my reaction needs to be. I need to stop overanalyzing the situation and just do what my Bible says. Forgive and move on. That’s what Jesus did when His friends betrayed Him. Here are some scriptures about friendship I found today that I find very helpful with this topic.
my doggies….
Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable? Proverbs 20:6 (Even the Bible says it hard;)
Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. Proverbs 27:6
To one who listens and valid criticism is like a gold earring or other gold jewelry. Proverbs 25:12
Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. Proverbs 17:9
Young people who obey the law are wise; those with wild friends bring shame to their parents. Proverbs 28:7
