What's love got to do with it?

The world’s perspective on love is very corrupt.  Many movies and songs portray love in the wrong way, which influences many people to think of love in his way.  Love isn’t some sort of “spur of the moment” kind of thing, it takes time and commitment. Love has a lot to do with commitment. It is respecting each other enough to save intercourse before marriage, it means not dating someone just for “fun”, but respecting that person enough to tell them if you can see yourself in a real relationship with them. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea to hear this, but this is not how the Bible portrays love and we can’t make our own version of what the Bible says but follow what Jesus commands us to do.  It is sad to see 50% of marriages end, and people have to deal with so much heartbreak.  If we let God be the center of our relationships and show us what love is through His word I am pretty sure we could drop that statistic drastically.

This is the only way we will find true joy and fulfillment, by following God’s calling in our life. This Valentine’s Day don’t let the world fool you on what love is, but remember what real love is.  Treat others the way God has called us to in your relationships.  Let us show the world the love of God.  And I think this chapter sums love up pretty well;)
