Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2:15-17
“To bind by emotional ties, as of affection or loyalty”, is the definition of attached. What are you attached to? Where does your loyalty lie? What are you emotionally tied to? Is it that Acura NSX, you are going to get after Med School or that manicure that you MUST get every week. Or is it that you have convinced yourself that having 100 different lipsticks and 50 different mascaras is a necessity? Making sure your clothes and accessories are always “hot off the runway”, no matter what the price. It can be watching too much television instead of being productive. Or reading 4 hours of that new popular vampire series. What are you more attached with than God?
With 2.2 billion believers in the world, and 16 “Christian” nations, why does poverty still exist? When people own multimillion dollar mansions. Why are people dying of simple preventable things, like starvation or polio? When people are buying dresses that cost thousands of dollars. It is a blessing to be blessed! So be a blessing to others! Make sure you own your possessions and that they don’t own you. Be willing to give up whatever God wants you too, and make sure your heart is open when He asks. This world is changing constantly. As we speak, people are working very hard to produce something even better than what is now! Might as well invest in something eternal, like His kingdom. I mean come on, I think whatever God has for us in heaven will beat the best this world has to offer.
Matthew 25:34-40
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
