What should draw people into a church? Love. How do these people see this “Love”? Well, through us. It shouldn’t be the lights, fog machines, plasma tvs, famous pastor, cute guy/gal at church etc. that brings us to church. It should be the people, the body of Christ, the church that draws people from all aspects of life into the God’s House. When there is such an out pour of God’s love and acceptance that is brought into a community by the church, Jesus will be irresistible to these people. The church that act as the hands and feet of Jesus is more powerful than the richest church that only seeks in helping themselves. There is no need for the lights, camera, action in the church, but just Jesus at the center.
Amos 5:21-24
I can’t stand your religious meetings.
I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions.
I want nothing to do with your religion projects,
your pretentious slogans and goals.
I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes,
your public relations and image making.
I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music.
When was the last time you sang to me?
Do you know what I want?
I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
That’s what I want. That’s all I want
