Since it is Good Friday I thought, what better movie to watch then Passion of the Christ today. So I watched it with a friend and it got me thinking about my life and changes I need to make. Sometimes in life I can get so caught up in the stupidest things! The things that bring me down or further from God can be so ridiculous. Sometimes we need to be able to see the big picture again and start focusing on what is important in life. For me that would be spending more time with God, making Him my first priority everyday and not letting anyone or anything stop me. I mean he didn’t let anything stop Him from getting crucified for me.
He had every right to sit comfortably in His throne in heaven and not care about me, why would a perfect and holy God care about someone like me who is far from perfect and makes mistakes all the time. It makes no sense! He did it cause He loves me, He loves me sooooo much that even if I was the only person on the planet He would still lay down His life for me. He did this cause He loves me and cause He loves you. I can’t speak for you, but I know I can waste plenty of time in unproductive activities that include the Internet or TV. Spending all this time away from God can make me very forgetful about other people. Gods selfless act on the cross inspires me to be like Him and love other like He loves me. I feel it is important to remember the love that was shown on the cross for us and also remember who He has called us to be by reading His word. There is just something so powerful about Jesus, when you read His story and begin to know Him you want to be like Him. It is not easy but there is nothing more fulfilling than living for Him.
1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
