I was reading Psalms 18, and it really helped me. I recommend you read it before reading the blog, it is what inspired me to write this.
Sometimes we can be in sin, and we are too ashamed to go to God in our sin. We give it a day or two and try to better ourselves. We try to"act" better, thinking we are now worthy to pray, worship, and read the Bible. This is a wrong mentality to have, wrong! We come to God in our sin, we ask Him to help us overcome it. That’s what His sacrifice was all about. And the process of trying to “better ourselves”, by ourselves can take a while, if it ever happens. Sometimes we can’t even overcome it without Him, I mean if you keep struggling with the same sin over and over again, STOP! Stop trying to do it alone, surrender it at the foot of the cross. He will empower you to overcome it. Psalms 18 speaks of how Jesus is our safe haven, He protects us! Protects us from the devil and his power, Jesus has overcome it all! Rest and hide in your safe haven, Jesus. He will comfort you from the scars sin left you with and empower you to overcome it. Start anew now, cause your Safe Haven is always there and never closes.
