His love for us is abundant. There is no way for you to make Him love you more or less, His love is complete. The Bible has set rules for us to live a life pleasing to Jesus. 
Now God is not interested in contracts but relationships. So when God commands us to forgive others because He forgave us (Matthew 18:21-35), we should have a mentality of “wanting” to forgive others not “having” to forgive.
God wants us to obey His word, but not because we have to but because we are so overwhelmed with His love for us we want to be obedient to Him and please Him. So ask Him to give you a fire in your heart to live a life pleasing to Him.
